Pride Builds A Tower (11AM)
Nowadays, there are many cities in the world where very high towers have been built. They are impressive and when the sky is clear, people can see these Giant and beautiful Towers from afar, like the Eiffel Tower in Paris, and Burj Khalifa in Dubai. It is a demonstration of the architecture, engineering, and technology power, but also a demonstration of the financial power resources to these cities and countries. These towers are in one sense a sign of pride and power; a city and country can become famous because of its towers, and many towers are built for business purposes only.
Last week Pastor Dennis preached on Genesis Chapter 7-9 and gives the message on what happened to Noah, his family, and all the animals after the flood; also reminded us about the promise from God for a new beginning, and to establish His covenant with Noah and his offspring after him.
This Sunday we’ll learn how part of Noah's offspring settled in one place to build for themselves a city and a tower with its top in the heavens, and to make a name for themselves, Genesis 11:4 so they started building a city, but their pride, arrogance and attitude of superiority led them to deviate from God's ways and not follow his instructions, because their only motive was to build power and prestige for themselves, and not to give glory and honor to God His creator. For this reason God confused their language so that they would never finish building the Tower and would be scattered all over the face of the Earth. Gen 11:7, 8. God has a message for us today and is not to build a tower for ourselves, but to build God’s Character and a good relationship with Him, His Son Jesus and The Holy spirit.
