1 Chronicles 16:8-12 Give thanks the Lord and proclaim his greatness. Let the whole world know what He has done. 9 Sing to him; yes, sing his praises. Tell everyone about His wonderful deeds. 10 Exult in his holy name; rejoice, you who worship the Lord. 11 Search for the Lord and for His strength; continually seek Him. 12 Remember the wonders He has performed, His miracles, and the rulings He has given, 13 you children of His servant Israel, you descendants of Jacob, His chosen ones. Psalm 46:10-11 “Be still and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.” 11 The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is here among us; the God of Israel is our fortress.
Our Condition: We have been Seeking God for our Valley monthly since 2010. We cry out for Your guidance and intervention in our lack of resources; city finances, daily living expenses, hunger, food bank supplies and homelessness. We also cry out for His guidance to end domestic violence, fatherlessness, gangs, overdoses and suicide and homelessness.
2 Chronicles 7:19-22 “But if you or your sons betray me, ignoring my guidance and judgments, taking up with alien gods by serving and worshiping them, then the guarantee is off: I’ll wipe Israel right off the map and repudiate this Temple I’ve just sanctified to honor my Name. And Israel will be nothing but a bad joke among the peoples of the world. And this Temple, splendid as it now is, will become an object of contempt; tourists will shake their heads, saying, ‘What happened here? What’s the story behind these ruins?’ Then they’ll be told, ‘The people who used to live here betrayed their God, the very God who rescued their ancestors from Egypt; they took up with alien gods, worshiping and serving them. That’s what’s behind this God-visited devastation.’”
We Turn Away from Evil:
Jeremiah 25:5-6 Each time the message was this: ‘Turn from the evil road you are traveling and from the evil things you are doing. Only then will I let you live in this land that the Lord gave to you and your ancestors forever. 6 Do not provoke my anger by worshiping idols you made with your own hands. Then I will not harm you.’
Matthew 3:2-3 “Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near.” 3 The prophet Isaiah was speaking about John when he said, “He is a voice shouting in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord’s coming! Clear the road for Him!’”
2 Peter 3:9 The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, He is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed but wants everyone to repent.
We Return to Him:
Nehemiah 1:5-9 When I heard this, I sat down and wept. In fact, for days I mourned, fasted, and prayed to the God of heaven. 5 Then I said, “O Lord, God of heaven, the great and awesome God who keeps His covenant of unfailing love with those who love Him and obey His commands, 8 “Please remember what You told your servant Moses: ‘If you are unfaithful to Me, I will scatter you among the nations. 9 But if you return to Me and obey my commands and live by them, then even if you are exiled to the ends of the earth, I will bring you back to the place I have chosen for My Name to be honored.’
He Rewards:
Psalm 18:25-30 To the faithful You show yourself faithful; to those with integrity You show integrity. 26 To the pure You show yourself pure, but to the crooked You show yourself shrewd. 27 You rescue the humble, but You humiliate the proud. 28 You light a lamp for me. The Lord, my God, lights up my darkness. 29 In your strength I can crush an army; with my God I can scale any wall. 30 God’s way is perfect. All the Lord’s promises prove true.
