PRAY YAKIMA

2nd Sunday Each Month

Thank you for spending time in prayer this Sunday for our church and for Yakima Valley. Below are links to this month’s scripture and prayer prompts from the team behind Pray Yakima 24/7. What an honor to join other churches across our Valley to pray over our city - our prayers matter!  May God bless your time in prayer.
Our desire and purpose for 24/7 is to “set a watch” by connecting with Grace to pray for our Valley one day each month so that we may experience the blessings of God’s promises 24/7 for 365 days of our year.  Your part is vital to this end.

Scripture Support for Prayer Topics

Sunday, May 10
If My people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves, pray, seek, crave, and require of necessity My face and turn from
their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14
This scripture will be our guide/outline for 2026, Humility our focus for May

Humility- Freedom from pride and arrogance, not proud or haughty. [Webster Dictionary]
Humility is the nature of all virtues: purity, charity and obedience.
It is being humble that our love becomes real, devoted and ardent. [Sister Teresa of Calcutta]
Our Praise:
I Chronicles 29:10-13 Then David praised the Lord in the presence of the whole assembly: “O Lord, the God of our ancestor Israel, may you be praised forever and ever! 11 Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty. Everything in the heavens and on earth is yours, O Lord, and this is your kingdom. We adore you as the one who is over all things. 12 Wealth and honor come from you alone, for you rule over everything. Power and might are in your hand, and at your discretion people are made great and given strength. 13 O our God, we thank you and praise your glorious name!”  Praise for governmental and community members coming together to support the pools in Yakima.

We Come in Humility – Needy & Listening: Interceding for our Valley monthly since 2010, we cry out for Your guidance and intervention in our lack of resources,  city finances, daily living expenses, hunger, food bank supplies, gangs, overdoses and suicide. Help us end domestic violence, fatherlessness and homelessness.

Proverbs 11:2, 30   When swelling and pride come, then emptiness and shame come also, but with the humble (those who are lowly, who have been pruned or chiseled by trial, and renounce self) are skillful and godly Wisdom and soundness. 30 The fruit of the [uncompromisingly] righteous is a tree of life, and he who is wise captures human lives [for God, as a fisher of men—He gathers and receives them for eternity].

Proverbs 16:17-19  The highway of the upright turns aside from evil; he who guards his way preserves his life. 18 Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. 19 Better it is to be of a humble spirit with the meek and poor than to divide the spoil with the proud.

Psalm 10:17-18  O Lord, You have heard the desire and the longing of the humble and oppressed; You will prepare and strengthen and direct their hearts, You will cause Your ear to hear, 18 To do justice to the fatherless and the oppressed, so that man, who is of the earth, may not terrify them anymore.

Psalm 34:2-4 I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. 2 My life makes its boast in the Lord; let the humble and afflicted hear and be glad.

Ephesians 4:2 Always be HUMBLE and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowances for each other's faults because of your love.

1 Peter 5:6-7 Casting the whole of your cares, anxieties, worries and concerns, once and for all on Him, for He cares for you.

National Day of Prayer, May 7  https://www.nationaldayofprayer.org/2026_theme
Our theme is inspired by a passionate prayer of Thanksgiving, prayed by King David in 1 Chronicles 16 after bringing the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem. This chapter records Israel celebrating the return of the Ark after being separated for 70 years earlier.

"Tell of His glory among the nations, His wonderful deeds among all the peoples." ~  1 Chronicles 16:24 NASB

LORD, Hear our prayers!  In Jesus' name we pray, AMEN.
