A Living Hope
He is Risen! He is Risen Indeed!
That is what would normally be shouted in the sanctuary at Grace of Christ on Easter Sunday. However, it's something we should proclaim every day of every week. Perhaps when you wake up in the morning utter the words in your house. Not just Easter morning, but every morning. It's a reminder that because Jesus is alive, though we now may be experiencing the affects of living in a broken and dying world, one day we too shall be alive, with Jesus, face to face with our God and Maker.
When you watch the news, as your heart breaks for those who are being impacted the Coronavirus, maybe just utter that simple truth: "He is Risen". Jesus is alive. That truth is our "living hope", as we will see from I Peter 1.1-5. Because Jesus rose from the dead, we have a sure hope that we too shall be resurrected. As the Apostle Paul wrote, the afflictions that we are going through are but minor. Minor, but no less real or overwhelming. But, whatever suffering we experience in this world is but a blip on the screen compared to the eternal life we will all share together at the final Resurrection.
Today, as we gather around our televisions, our computers, our tables or phones, let us lift high the name of Jesus, proclaim to the world that
"He is Risen" - "He is Risen Indeed!"
