PREACHING: CHRIS GRANBERRY, SACRED ROAD

This Sunday is Mission Sunday. Bringing the message will be Chris Granberry of Sacred Road Ministries serving the Yakama Reservation. Following the services in the Garden Room, you will have the opportunity to learn more about the missions our Church supports.

What is Sacred Road Ministries? Where is it located? Whom does it serve? What do you know about our “First Neighbors”? How can we love them well? What is the truth about our country’s history with Native Americans? Pastor, radio host, author, and Bible teacher Alistair Begg said, “We will never go forward effectively until we learn to view the past properly.” To reckon with the wrongs committed against the Native Americans in the past, read Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee by Dee Brown.

By listening, learning, asking, and supporting Sacred Road Ministries and others working to show love to our First Neighbors on the Yakama Reservation, we can participate in being the hands and feet of Jesus. In gratitude for what Jesus has done for us, we can love our “First Neighbors” like family, making sacrifices in order to satisfy the desires of the afflicted, as it says in our Scripture passage for today.
