11A Worship - What Is On Your Mind?

Reflecting on Gregory’s sermon on the renewal of the mind I find myself at a crossroad. What is the nature of my thoughts? What is the focus of my mind? Is it on the words and thoughts of God? Or have I fallen to the perspectives of the world and the “futility of my own mind”? As I meditated on this and sat before the Lord, a question came up. “How is that working for you, Robin? Your own thoughts? Your reasonableness?” And I was convicted of how much I depend on my own thoughts and perspectives. Being a good Christian, I was inviting Jesus to come over to my way of thinking rather than getting “the mind of Christ”.

This week I would like to challenge all of us to consider “Changing your mind” as we look at the scriptures and see how often Jesus renewed the thinking of those He ministered to.
