Growing Beyond The Grip Of Fear
Sometimes we’ll hear someone say, “I’m not afraid of anything!” For those of us living in the real world, there are some legitimate reasons to be fearful. Some people are afraid of heights or small spaces, while others are afraid of speaking in public. Sometimes fear comes in the form of the unknown, change, loss or the possibility of failure. Fear has the potential to stop of us from loving, trying, creating, trusting, giving and moving forward.
David was a man in the Bible who had enemy armies out to get him. He had reason to fear for his very life, yet he found the courage and strength to put his trust in the Lord. In Psalm 27, Psalm 27, David focuses on His Heavenly Father, rather than his fear. The Psalm provides encouragement, hope and guidance for anyone struggling with times of fear.
