pray yakima 24.7

2nd Sunday Each Month

You are invited to come alongside Yakima churches and ministries as we offer 24/7 prayer – 365 days a year – on behalf of our Yakima Valley. Your participation in this effort is vital to the positive transformation of our valley.  May you and your family be blessed in coming together and being a part of something much bigger than ourselves. Grace of Christ is asked to provide prayer coverage the 2nd Sunday of every month using the prayer prompts below provided by Yakima Valley 24/7 Prayer.  If you would like to join the team and set aside just 15 minutes to pray for Yakima on the 2nd Sunday of every month, please send us an email!
Our desire and purpose for 24/7 is to “set a watch” by connecting with Grace to pray for our Valley one day each month so that we may experience the blessings of God’s promises 24/7 for 365 days of our year.  Your part is vital to this end.

June 2020

I will praise You in the great assembly. I will fulfill my vows in the presence of those who worship You. 26 The poor will eat and be satisfied.  All who seek the Lord will praise Him. Their hearts will rejoice with everlasting joy. 27 The whole earth will acknowledge the Lord and return to Him. All the families of the nations will bow down before Him. 28 For royal power belongs to the Lord.  He rules all the nations. Psalm 22:25-28
WE PRAISE
Worthy is the Lamb!
  • Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.  2 Cor. 1:3-4.
  • When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?  You have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honor. Ps. 8:3-5.
  • I will exalt you, my God the King; I will praise your name for ever and ever.  Every day I will praise you and extol your name for ever and ever. The Lord is good to all; He has compassion on all He has made.  All your works praise you, Lord; your faithful people extol You. Ps. 145:1-2, 9-10.
  • Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him in His mighty heavens.  Praise Him for His acts of power; praise Him for his surpassing greatness. Praise Him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise Him with the harp and lyre, praise Him with timbrel and dancing, praise Him with the strings and pipe, praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise Him with resounding cymbals.  Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.  Praise the Lord. Ps. 150.

OUR DISTRACTIONS
What’s Happening vs What’s God Saying? 20 Homicides in 2020, Fentanyl overdoses at an all time high in our city, woman’s death in Police custody. Division; races and peoples, cultures, classes, churches.
  • The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I (Jesus) have come that they may have life and have it to the full. John 10:10.

WE WAIT ON THE LORD:
“This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty.”  Zech. 4:6.

Repentance:
  • If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chr. 7:14

Forgiveness:
  • In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that He lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding, He made known to us the mystery of His will according to his good pleasure, which He purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ. Eph. 1:7-10.
  • I will rescue you from your own people and from the Gentiles. I am sending you to them to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.’  Acts 26:17-18.
  • When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; He has taken it away, nailing it to the cross.  Col. 2:13-14.

Reconciliation:
For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to Him through the death of His Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through His life! Rom. 5:10.   Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to Himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. 2 Cor. 5:17-20.
For God was pleased to have all His fullness dwell in Him, and through Him to reconcile to Himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through His blood, shed on the cross. Col. 1:19-20.

Awakening, Revival & Restoration:
  • “Arise, shine, for your light has come and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.   See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and His glory appears over you.
  • Nations will come to your light and kings to the brightness of your dawn. Isaiah 60:1-3.
  • Then He said to me, “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to it, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Come, breath, from the four winds and breathe into these slain, that they may live.’” So I prophesied as He commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet—a vast army. Ezekiel 37:9-10.
  • Then I looked again, and I heard the voices of thousands and millions of angels around the throne and of the living beings and the elders. And they sang in a mighty chorus: “Worthy is the Lamb who was slaughtered—to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing.”  And then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea. They sang: “Blessing and honor and glory and power belong to the One sitting on the throne and to the Lamb forever and ever.”  Rev. 5:11-13.

He Prepares Us:
  • “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.  Remember what I told you: I am going away, but I will come back to you again. If you really loved me, you would be happy that I am going to the Father, who is greater than I am. 29 I have told you these things before they happen so that when they do happen, you will believe. John 14:27.
  • Now all glory to God, who is able, through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.  Ephesians 3:20.
  • When I saw him, I fell at his feet as if I were dead. But He laid His right hand on me and said, “Don’t be afraid! I am the First and the Last. 18 I am the living one. I died, but look—I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and the grave.  Revelation 1:17,18.

Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. Eph 3:20.
For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. 12 In those days when you pray, I will listen. 13 If you look for Me wholeheartedly, you will find Me. 14 I will be found by you,” says the Lord. “I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes. I will gather you out of the nations where I sent you and will bring you home again to your own land.”  Jeremiah 29:11-14.
“But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”   1 Corinthians 15.57 (ESV)
