pray yakima 24.7

2nd Sunday Each Month

You are invited to come alongside Yakima churches and ministries as we offer 24/7 prayer – 365 days a year – on behalf of our Yakima Valley. Your participation in this effort is vital to the positive transformation of our valley.  May you and your family be blessed in coming together and being a part of something much bigger than ourselves. Grace of Christ is asked to provide prayer coverage the 2nd Sunday of every month using the prayer prompts below provided by Yakima Valley 24/7 Prayer.  If you would like to join the team and set aside just 15 minutes to pray for Yakima on the 2nd Sunday of every month, please send us an email!
Our desire and purpose for 24/7 is to “set a watch” by connecting with Grace to pray for our Valley one day each month so that we may experience the blessings of God’s promises 24/7 for 365 days of our year.  Your part is vital to this end.

...then, if my people, who bear My Name, will humble themselves, pray, seek My face and turn from their evil ways, I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin and heal their land.  2 Chronicles 7:14
Praising God for Who He Is:
  • The heavens are telling of the glory of God; and the expanse [of heaven] is declaring the work of His hands. Ps 19:1.
  • O come, let us sing joyfully to the Lord; Let us shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with a song of thanksgiving; Let us shout joyfully to Him with songs. For the Lord is a great God and a great King above all gods, Ps 95:1-3.
  • Praise the Lord! Praise God in His sanctuary; Praise Him in His mighty heavens. Praise Him for His mighty acts; Praise Him according to [the abundance of] His greatness. Praise Him with trumpet sound; Praise Him with harp and lyre. Praise Him with tambourine and dancing; Praise Him with stringed instruments and flute. Praise Him with resounding cymbals; Praise Him with loud cymbals. Let everything that has breath and every breath of life praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!) Ps 150.
Praising God for What We See:
  • Leadership of our city working with community, seeing peaceful marches.
  • Numbers of infections are down, less fires than last year.
  • Project Safe Neighborhood grants being released, Sept 1, $340K.
  • The YPD is grateful to the community for their show of support with daily notes and cards, cookies, goodies.
  • The love of God being shone.
  • This is helping build relationship and bringing more opportunities to hear one another recognizing that we are one people “Under God.”
Crying Out to Him for Mercy:
  • For our Children, Schools & education of our kids.  Many have no internet.
  • In Wapato will be required to go to school parking lot for internet, parents unable to work, single moms, moms not equipped to homeschool.
  • Those who don’t have English as first language, depression, away from friends.
  • Children sense parents’ anxiety.
  • Violence increasing around the nation and locally in families.
  • Suicides, five take their lives in our community in the period of a week.
We Repent & Return:
  • “Come and let us return [in repentance] to the Lord, for He has torn us, but He will heal us; He has wounded us, but He will bandage us. Hosea 6:1. O Israel, return [in repentance] to the Lord your God, for you have stumbled and fallen [visited by tragedy], because of your sin. Hosea 14:1.
  • I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse; therefore, you shall choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants,  by loving the Lord your God, by obeying His voice, and by holding closely to Him; for He is your life [your good life, your abundant life, your fulfillment] and the length of your days, that you may live in the land which the Lord promised (swore) to give to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Deuteronomy 30:19-20.
  • Although the Lord has persistently sent to you all His servants the prophets, you have not listened nor [even] inclined your ear to hear [His message], saying, ‘Turn now everyone from his evil way and the evil of your actions [that you may not forfeit the right to] live in the land that the Lord has given to you and your forefathers forever and ever;  and do not go after other gods to serve them and to worship them, and do not provoke Me to anger with the work of your hands, and I will do you no harm. Jeremiah 25:4-6.
We Seek Encouragement & Healing:
  • Will You not revive us and bring us to life again, that Your people may rejoice in You? Show us Your lovingkindness, O Lord, and grant us Your salvation. I will hear [with expectant hope] what God the Lord will say, for He will speak peace to His people, to His godly ones—But let them not turn again to folly. Surely His salvation is near to those who
  • [reverently] fear Him [and obey Him with submissive wonder], that glory [the manifest presence of God] may dwell in our land. Steadfast love and truth and faithfulness meet together; Righteousness and peace kiss each other. Truth springs from the earth, and righteousness looks down from heaven. Indeed, the Lord will give what is good, and our land will yield its produce. Psalm 85:6-12.
  • He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds [healing their pain and comforting their sorrow]. Ps 147:3.
  • ‘See now that I, I am He, and there is no god besides Me; It is I who put to death and I who give life. I have wounded and it is I who heal, and there is no one who can deliver from [the power of] My hand. Deut 32:39.
  • The Lord is near to the heartbroken and He saves those who are crushed in spirit (contrite in heart, truly sorry for their sin). Many hardships and perplexing circumstances confront the righteous, but the Lord rescues him from them all. Ps 34:18-19.
  • ‘Call to Me and I will answer you, and tell you [and even show you] great and mighty things, [things which have been confined and hidden], which you do not know and understand and cannot distinguish.’ Jer 33:3.
  • He sent from above, He took me; He drew me out of great waters. For You, O Lord, are my lamp.  The Lord illumines and dispels my darkness. 2 Sam 22:17, 29.
  • For this reason I am telling you, whatever things you ask for in prayer [in accordance with God’s will], believe [with confident trust] that you have received them, and they will be given to you. Mark 11:24.
For everyone born of God is victorious and overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has conquered and overcome the world—our [continuing, persistent] faith [in Jesus the Son of God].
1 John 5:4
“But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”   1 Corinthians 15.57 (ESV)
