pray yakima 24.7

2nd Sunday Each Month

You are invited to come alongside Yakima churches and ministries as we offer 24/7 prayer – 365 days a year – on behalf of our Yakima Valley. Your participation in this effort is vital to the positive transformation of our valley.  May you and your family be blessed in coming together and being a part of something much bigger than ourselves. Grace of Christ is asked to provide prayer coverage the 2nd Sunday of every month using the prayer prompts below provided by Yakima Valley 24/7 Prayer.  If you would like to join the team and set aside just 15 minutes to pray for Yakima on the 2nd Sunday of every month, please send us an email!
Our desire and purpose for 24/7 is to “set a watch” by connecting with Grace to pray for our Valley one day each month so that we may experience the blessings of God’s promises 24/7 for 365 days of our year.  Your part is vital to this end.

"Let them give thanks to the Lord for His lovingkindness and for His wonderful acts to the children of men!"  Psalm 107:31
Our Praises to God:
  • The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection.
  • He is my shield, the power that saves me and my place of safety.
  • He is my refuge, my savior, the one who saves me from violence. 2 Samuel 22:2-3. O Lord, our Lord, how majestic and glorious and excellent is Your name in all the earth! You have displayed Your splendor above the heavens. Out of the mouths of infants and nursing babes You have established strength because of Your adversaries, that You might silence the enemy and make the revengeful cease.
  • Psalm 8:1-2.  But You, O Lord, are enthroned forever [ruling eternally as sovereign]; and [the fame and glory of] Your name [endures] to all generations. You will arise and have compassion on Zion, for it is time to be gracious and show favor to her; Yes, the appointed time [the moment designated] has come.
  • Psalm 102:12-13.  I will exalt you, my God and King, and praise your name forever and ever.  I will praise you every day; yes, I will praise you forever.  Great is the Lord! He is most worthy of praise! No one can measure his greatness.
  • Let each generation tell its children of your mighty acts; let them proclaim your power. I will meditate on your majestic, glorious splendor and your wonderful miracles. Your awe-inspiring deeds will be on every tongue; I will proclaim your greatness.  Everyone will share the story of your wonderful goodness; they will sing with joy about your righteousness. Psalm 145:1-7.
Our Response of Repentance:
  • For [godly] sorrow that is in accord with the will of God produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation; but worldly sorrow [the hopeless sorrow of those who do not believe] produces death. 2 Cor 7:10.
  •  So repent [change your inner self—your old way of thinking, regret past sins] and return [to God—seek His purpose for your life], so that your sins may be wiped away [blotted out, completely erased], so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord [restoring you like a cool wind on a hot day]; and that He may send [to you] Jesus, the Christ, who has been appointed for you, whom heaven must keep until the time for the [complete] restoration of all things about which God promised through the mouth of His holy prophets from ancient time. Acts 3:19-21.
Our Needs:
  • The rapid spiritual and moral freefall today is beyond any person’s ability to reverse and heal.
  • We are living in a generation overflowing with conflict and chaos.
  • Masses of our citizens are lost in worldly attractions, sin, confusion, rebellion, fear, deception, hopelessness and, above all, a lack of understanding about the gospel and person of Jesus to heal our hearts and heal our land.
  • Everywhere we look, we see deadly pandemic, financial uncertainties, racial injustice, immorality, hatred, lies, political wars, terrorism, corruption, injustice, as well as leadership crises on every level.
  • We need you Jesus, to be Lord over every area of our lives and land.
His Promises: Healing, Unity leading to Revival.
  • Therefore, we boldly pray for a fresh, awakening to Christ, not only in our Church but also throughout every sphere of influence in our entire Valley. God’s way is perfect.
  • All the Lord’s promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to him for protection. For Who is God except the Lord? Who but our God is a solid rock? Psalm 18:30-31.
But [in fact] He has borne our griefs and He has carried our sorrows and pains;
  • Yet we [ignorantly] assumed that He was stricken, struck down by God and degraded and humiliated [by Him]. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was crushed for our wickedness [our sin, our injustice, our wrongdoing]; The punishment [required] for our well-being fell on Him and by His stripes (wounds) we are healed.
  • All of us like sheep have gone astray, we have turned, each one, to his own way; but the Lord has caused the wickedness of us all [our sin, our injustice, our wrongdoing] to fall on Him [instead of us]. Isaiah 53:4-6.
  • Beyond all these things put on and wrap yourselves in [unselfish] love, which is the perfect bond of unity [for everything is bound together in agreement when each one seeks the best for others]. Let the peace of Christ [the inner calm of one who walks daily with Him] be the controlling factor in your hearts [deciding and settling questions that arise].
  • To this peace indeed you were called as members in one body [of believers]. And be thankful [to God always]. Colossians 3:14-15.
  • So I, the prisoner for the Lord, appeal to you to live a life worthy of the calling to which you have been called [that is, to live a life that exhibits godly character, moral courage, personal integrity, and mature behavior—a life that expresses gratitude to God for your salvation], with all humility [forsaking self-righteousness], and gentleness [maintaining self-control], with patience, bearing with one another in [unselfish] love.
  • Make every effort to keep the oneness of the Spirit in the bond of peace [each individual working together to make the whole successful].
  • There is one body [of believers] and one Spirit—just as you were called to one hope when called [to salvation]— one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of us all who is [sovereign] over all and [working] through all and [living] in all. Ephesians 4:1-6.
  • The Lord God is my strength [my source of courage, my invincible army]; He has made my feet [steady and sure] like hinds’ feet and makes me walk [forward with spiritual confidence] on my high places [of challenge and responsibility]. Habakkuk 3:19.
  •  “I do not pray for these alone [it is not for their sake only that I make this request], but also for [all] those who [will ever] believe and trust in Me through their message, that they all may be one; just as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be one in Us, so that the world may believe [without any doubt] that You sent Me. John 17:20-21.
So will My word be which goes out of My mouth; It will not return to Me void (useless, without result),
Without accomplishing what I desire, and without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.  Isaiah 55:11
“But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”   1 Corinthians 15.57 (ESV)

LORD, Hear our prayers!  We love you Jesus – in your name we pray, AMEN.
