pray yakima 24.7

2nd Sunday Each Month

You are invited to come alongside Yakima churches and ministries as we offer 24/7 prayer – 365 days a year – on behalf of our Yakima Valley. Your participation in this effort is vital to the positive transformation of our valley.  May you and your family be blessed in coming together and being a part of something much bigger than ourselves. Grace of Christ is asked to provide prayer coverage the 2nd Sunday of every month using the prayer prompts below provided by Yakima Valley 24/7 Prayer.  If you would like to join the team and set aside just 15 minutes to pray for Yakima on the 2nd Sunday of every month, please send us an email!
Our desire and purpose for 24/7 is to “set a watch” by connecting with Grace to pray for our Valley one day each month so that we may experience the blessings of God’s promises 24/7 for 365 days of our year.  Your part is vital to this end.

The Lord is my light and my salvation - so why should I be afraid?
The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble?  Psalm 27:1
WE PRAISE OUR GOD OF HOPE FOR WHO HE IS: 4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again, I will say, rejoice! Philippians 4.  19 The Lord has established His throne in the heavens, and His sovereignty rules over all [the universe]. 20 Bless the Lord, you His angels, you mighty ones who do His commandments, Obeying the voice of His word! 21 Bless the Lord, all you His hosts, you who serve Him and do His will. 22 Bless the Lord, all you works of His, in all places of His dominion; Bless and affectionately praise the Lord, O my soul!  Psalm 103.   8 Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.  9 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. 10 Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah. Psalm 24.  8 And the four living creatures, each one of them having six wings, are full of eyes all over and within [underneath their wings]; and day and night they never stop saying, “Holy, holy, holy [is the] Lord God, the Almighty [the Omnipotent, the Ruler of all], who was and who is and who is to come [the unchanging, eternal God].” Revelation 4.
WE TRUST GOD FOR HOPE IN OUR SUFFERING: We find ourselves having to deal with fear; COVID, violence, lack of freedom, fatherlessness, gang life, sexual abuse, homelessness and lawlessness in many other forms.  1 Why are the nations in an uproar, the peoples grumbling in vain? 2 The earth’s kings are taking positions, leaders conspiring together against Adonai and his anointed. 3 They cry, “Let’s break their fetters! Let’s throw off their chains!” Psalm 2. 28 Then one of the scribes came up and listened to them arguing and noticing that Jesus answered them well, asked Him, “Which commandment is first and most important of all?” 29 Jesus answered, “The first and most important one is: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord; 30 and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul (life), and with all your mind (thought, understanding), and with all your strength.’ 31 This is the second: ‘You shall [unselfishly] [h]love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” Mark 12.  4 “Who has performed and done this, calling forth [and guiding the destinies of] the generations [of the nation’s] from the beginning? ‘I, the Lord —the first, and with the last [the ever-present, unchanging God]—I am He.’”  10 ‘Do not fear [anything], for I am with you; Do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, be assured I will help you; I will certainly take hold of you with My righteous right hand [a hand of justice, of power, of victory, of salvation].’ 11 “Indeed, all those who are angry with you will be put to shame and humiliated; Those who strive against you will be as nothing and will perish. Isaiah 41.  Let your gentle spirit [your graciousness, unselfishness, mercy, tolerance, and patience] be known to all people. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your requests known to God. 7 And the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace] which transcends all understanding, [peace which] stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus [is yours]. Philippians 4.
WE DEMONSTRATE OBEDIENCE TO OUR GOD OF HOPE: 5 “Blessed [inwardly peaceful, spiritually secure, worthy of respect] are the gentle [the kind-hearted, the sweet-spirited, the self-controlled], for they will inherit the earth., Matthew 5.
10 Love does no wrong to a neighbor [it never hurts anyone]. Therefore [unselfish] love is the fulfillment of the Law. 11 Do this, knowing that this is a critical time. It is already the hour for you to awaken from your sleep [of spiritual complacency]; for our salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed [in Christ]. 12 The night [this present evil age] is almost gone and the day [of Christ’s return] is almost here. So, let us fling away the works of darkness and put on the [full] armor of light. our salvation is nearer than we first believed. Romans 13.  14 For this reason He says, “Awake, sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine [as dawn] upon you and give you light.” 15 Therefore see that you walk carefully [living life with honor, purpose, and courage; shunning those who tolerate and enable evil], not as the unwise, but as wise [sensible, intelligent, discerning people], 16 making the very most of your time [on earth, recognizing and taking advantage of each opportunity and using it with wisdom and diligence], because the days are [filled with] evil. Ephesians 5.  20 But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.  24 Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, 25 To God our Savior, Who alone is wise, Be glory and majesty, Dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen. Jude.  1Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12.
13 And now there remain: faith [abiding trust in God and His promises], hope [confident expectation of eternal salvation], love [unselfish love for others growing out of God’s love for me], these three [the choicest graces]; but the greatest of these is love.  1 Cor 13
“But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”   1 Corinthians 15.57 (ESV)
