Bill Williamson is our newly appointed Designated Pastor, but he is not new to Grace of Christ. From 1995-1999 Pastor Bill was an Associate Pastor for what was then 1st Presbyterian Church. After serving in Southern California as a Senior Pastor, Bill, and his wife Debbie, returned to Yakima. From May 2018 – February 15, 2019, Bill served as a Hospice Chaplain with Memorial Hospital. Bill and Debbie have three adult daughters. Kathryn lives in Spokane with her husband Mike, and they are brand new parents to Jude Fox. Megan lives in LaVerne, Ca. with her husband Brian, and their two daughters Berkley and Chloe. Haley lives in Spokane, working as a Resident Director at Whitworth University.
You will find Pastor Bill at various local coffee shops, and are free to interrupt what he is doing and engage in conversation. Debbie is a substitute teacher in Yakima and West Valley school districts, and is enjoying spending time with grandchildren when she can, as well as visiting her mother in California. Pastor Bill is also a lifelong fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Rams. Golf, bike riding, walking, reading, hitting the gym, coaching pastors, and enjoying a good cup of coffee have also been regular parts of Bill’s life. Pastor Bill particularly enjoys seeing what God and the Church are doing globally, having gone to Kenya twice, Rwanda twice, Ethiopia once, as well as Costa Rica twice, Guatemala three times, Spain once, Australia once and various places in Mexico on numerous occasions.

Alex Rule has served Grace of Christ and our community in the Yakima valley for six years. He serves as Lay Pastor to our Spanish-speaking Church Family: “Gracia de Cristo” and the Hispanic Community Outreach ministry. He has been working with great passion with adult programs in different organizations such as the Yakima Union Gospel Mission, Ready-by-5 and others. Alex loves Nature, Reading, Music, Playing Soccer, Rollerblading, Swimming and Hiking. He likes to encourages others to read the bible every day, serve the community, and learn something new.
John Stolzenbach and his wife Sue have been members of Grace of Christ for nearly seven years. John and Sue came to Yakima to be closer to their children in Seattle after 27 years as a Lutheran Pastor in Michigan and Ohio. John led the Monday Trailseekers program for five years and worked with Gracia de Cristo for nearly 2 years. He is currently an Elder.
John brings his nearly 35 years of pastoral care experience which he will use as a volunteer, overseeing pastoral care and working with the Deacons.
Dennis Whitcher received his Certificate in Lay Ministry from Whitworth College in 2002. He was ordained as a Lay Pastor and commissioned to serve as the Pastor for the Tieton Presbyterian Church where he and his wife Barbara served for three years. After our church moved from PCUSA to ECO, Dennis was commissioned by our Session in January 2014, to serve as a volunteer Lay Pastor for Grace of Christ Church.
Dennis currently serves as a Deacon, conducts worship services at retirement homes, performs memorial and funeral services, serves on the Pastoral Care Team and assists during Sunday worship. He enjoys quilting with his wife Barbara, target shooting, trap shooting, and golf.
Steve Barker, Pastor Emeritus, served as a campus pastor at Harvard, MIT, the Claremont Colleges, and Occidental College for 15 years. Steve also taught evangelism and campus ministry at Fuller Theological Seminary. He joined the pastoral staff at FPC in 1984. He helped write two books on small groups: Small Group Leaders Handbook and Good Things Come in Small Groups. Steve is an evangelist and believes that God has an absolute claim on our lives as our Creator.
Steve was honored to be Pastor Emeritus when he contracted Parkinson’s Disease and retired with a disability in 2007. He is married to Julie and has 4 biological sons and three others who have become a part of their family.
