Are you a mom with a preschooler?
Looking for a great mom connection? Please join us at MOPS here at Grace of Christ. It’s a great opportunity to make connections with other moms in the same season of life.
We enjoy a lite breakfast, fellowship, and listening to speakers that feed words of inspiration into us. Childcare is provided through our MOPS Kids program.
MOPS will kick off its 2019-2020 year on September 20 at 9:30am. Our first meeting is a little later this year, as MOPS International had their annual international conference in early September at Walt Disney World. This year our group was able to send two moms, and they had an amazing time learning how to live life To The Full! This is the MOPS theme for the new year. The verse that inspires this new theme is from the book of John.
To The Full…
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. – John 10:10.
We are going to spend the year having more fun, fearing less, and finding our people. MOPS meetings are held on the first and third Fridays of the month from 9:30am to noon (with a few exceptions).
Please join us as we head into our 21st year at Grace of Christ Church. We are always looking for volunteers and mentors. If interested, please contact Danielle Woodcock at 509-312-9883.
Do you have a topic that you think is important to be shared in our MOPS group. Please let us now by contacting Danielle Woodcock at MOPS@yakimagrace.com or on Facebook. Be sure to like our page on Facebook as well to keep up to date on all events that might come up!
What is MOPS?
Mothers of Preschoolers connects moms to other moms for fellowship, inspiration, and to grow closer to Jesus. Children of all ages are welcome in our MOPPETS program, including a homeschooling room for children beyond kindergarten.
MOPS reaches out to any woman who is parenting young children to encourage, equip and help her realize her potential as a woman, mother (or care-giver) and leader in the name of Jesus. We love on our mommies by creating a safe environment that nurtures their physical, social, and emotional needs, thus opening a door to start tending to their spiritual needs. For our large gatherings, childcare is provided so mommies can relax, eat breakfast, socialize with new and old friends, and hear from speakers on topics such as motherhood, marriage and young family life. In the summer, we enjoy social gatherings at pools and parks. You may register your children and yourself at any meeting. Registration fees apply and scholarships are available. Contact the church for more information.
MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers. MOPS International exists to meet the needs of every mom-urban, suburban and rural moms, stay-at-home moms and working moms, teen, single and married moms – moms with different lifestyles who share a similar desire to be the very best moms they can be! MOPS recognizes that the years from infancy through kindergarten are foundational in a mother-child relationship and are filled with unique needs. Having a child of preschool age is not a requirement to attend MOPS-all moms with children from birth through kindergarten are invited to attend. Childcare is provided through our MOPPETS program; however, children are welcomed in our meetings at all times.
What can I expect?
Moms have the opportunity to make new friends, share experiences, laugh together and learn Biblical principles pertaining to womanhood and parenting. We enjoy breakfast together, listen to a great speaker and make a fun craft while our kids participate in their own program.
What is the cost?
The MOPS International membership fee is $35 per year, which gives you lots of goodies, including a subscription to MomSense magazine. Suggested meeting donation is $5. Scholarships are available. Contact Danielle Woodcock, Registration & Finance, for more information.
