Lani & Michael Johnson
Lani Johnson: I taught high school Chemistry and then worked with the Labor Department in the Philippines. I grew up as a Catholic and accepted Jesus Christ at age 30. My spiritual heritage is with the Navigators Ministry. In 2004, having felt the need to move on to other avenues, I planned on a mission trip to East Asia. Instead, God brought me here in the US in marriage with Michael Johnson. While working in the secular world, I utilize my spare time by volunteering as a youth mentor and as a classroom assistant. I have been a regular attendee at First Presbyterian Church (FPC), Yakima, WA since my arrival in 2005 and I became a member in 2012. I assisted with the Media Team since 2011 and currently, I am a member of the Service Ministry Team.
Michael Johnson: I worked at Haney Truck Line as Management Information Systems Director for 31 years until my (semi) retirement in 2013. I grew up as an agnostic. It was through the Kerygma class offered by First Presbyterian Church of Yakima, WA that I was met by Jesus and accepted HIM in my life at age 45. I continued my study by completing the Bethel Series and Kerygma II. I have facilitated several classes for new members and have served as a Deacon. I am currently the facilitator of a men’s bible study that has met continuously for 45 years. Following our move to the Philippines, I plan to continue working as a consultant for Haney via remote computer.
